Description

Patented in 1911, this Harvey Stone Sales Company vacuum cleaner may have been used in the family of Francis Daniels.

The metal unit relies entirely on human power and on the force of suction. Pulling up on the handle sucks dust and other particles via the slender tip that touches the floor into the large middle chamber.

Directions for maintenance on the side of the vacuum read: "Oil me occasionally thru top holes and clean dust bag."
